Summit Grove Holdings

Long-term ownership for businesses worth keeping.

We’re a small holding company that buys, holds and steadily improves good, durable businesses, without a sale clock, a quick flip, or a spreadsheet-only view of the people who run them.

Who we are

A holding company, in plain terms.

SUMMIT GROVE HOLDINGS acquires and owns a small number of well-run private businesses. We’re not a fund with a ten-year clock, and we don’t buy companies to break them up. We buy to keep.

We’re early in this work, and we’d rather say so than dress it up. What we can tell you is how we’ll behave: straightforward about what we’re doing, careful with the people and reputations we inherit, and patient about results.

  • No exit clock We plan to hold what we buy, not to flip it.
  • Direct You talk to the people who make the decision.
  • Small on purpose A few businesses, each with our real attention.
  • Veteran-owned Founded and led by U.S military veterans.

Our approach

Four commitments we hold ourselves to.

  1. Patient capital

We don’t operate on a fund timeline. That lets us make decisions for the next decade of a business, not the next quarter.

  2. Keep what works

Good businesses have people, habits and customers worth protecting. We change what needs changing and leave alone what doesn’t.

  3. Operators first

The people closest to the work usually know best. We back strong managers with capital, resources and candid counsel, and stay out of the daily running.

  4. Plain-spoken and prompt

Clear terms, straight answers, and a reply to every inquiry within 3 business days.

What we look for

The kind of business we’re glad to own.

If most of this sounds like your company, we’d like to hear from you, even if the timing is a year or two away.

Good fit

  • Established, profitable businesses with at least 5 years of operating history
  • Annual revenue of roughly $1M to $25M and steady cash flow
  • Products or services customers keep needing, in a business we can understand
  • Committed management, or a founder who wants a thoughtful transition
  • Based in the United States

Not for us

  • Turnarounds that depend on a miracle
  • Businesses that rest on a single customer or a single irreplaceable person
  • Break-ups, asset stripping, or cost-cutting as the whole strategy
  • Speculative or unproven models

For business owners

What working with us looks like.

  1. A conversation

No forms, no pitch deck. Tell us about the business and what you want next.

  2. We learn the business

We ask real questions and keep everything confidential. We’ll sign an NDA whenever you’d like one.

  3. A straightforward offer

Clear terms in plain language, with our reasoning. No games on price or timing.

  4. Transition on your terms

Stay, step back gradually, or leave cleanly. We agree on it up front and we honor it.

Our holdings

Early, and deliberate about it.

Every business we add is one we intend to own for a long time, so we’d rather add a few good ones than many quickly. We’ll introduce our businesses here as they join us.

For investors

Capital that’s treated like a partnership.

We’re building relationships with a small circle of like-minded partners, not raising from everyone. Here’s what you can expect from us.

  • Aligned

The principals invest their own capital alongside partners, and we’ll be direct about how we’re compensated.

  • Transparent

Regular, plain-language updates: what happened, what we learned, and what’s next. Reviewed quarterly.

  • Selective

We take on new businesses and new partners only when we’re confident we can do right by them.
